Under the recently enacted Whistleblower Protection Act, companies with more than 249 employees and public institutions are required to implement an internal whistleblowing system as of August 25, 2023. As of December 18, 2023, this obligation will apply to all companies with more than 49 employees.
The whistleblowing system creates a confidential reporting channel for persons who wish to report (possible) legal violations. This reporting channel must ensure the confidentiality of the whistleblower, guarantee data security and enable queries and further correspondence with the whistleblower.
